Morning has broken, like the first morning
Blackbird has spoken, like the first bird
Praise for the singing, praise for the morning
Praise for the springing fresh from the world

Sweet the rain's new fall, sunlit from heaven
Like the first dewfall, on the first grass
Praise for the sweetness of the wet garden
Sprung in completeness where his feet pass

Mine is the sunlight, mine is the morning
Born of the one light, eden saw play
Praise with elation, praise every morning
God's recreation of the new day

13. Morning Has Broken
(trad. - Farjeon) Remember Elina? Great news - she is here! Elina visited me one dark autumn eve and sang some new material, including this one. I made an odd arrangement around her acapella singing and this is the result. -- Jore

I think Jore did a great job in building this around Elina's lovely vocal. I remember this from my Sunday School days - a VERY long time ago. I don't think many people realise Eleanor Farjeon wrote the words - she's much better known as a children's author. --Davy
